Irmo Okra Strut Festival

We are excited to announce the Irmo Okra Strut is coming back for it's 45th year!
This festival has been a southern favorite for 45 years. What started as a way for the Lake Murray-Irmo Woman's Club to raise money for a new library, has turned in to a spectacular event to end each summer. With beautiful Lake Murray and the Riverbanks Zoo near by, the Okra Strut Festival is the perfect addition to your end of summer vacation in wonderful Columbia, South Carolina. Columbia Fireflies Baseball Home Games

Cheer on the Columbia Fireflies during the 2018 baseball season! Single game tickets, full season tickets, half season tickets, quarter season tickets and mini plans are available. The Columbia Fireflies are a Minor League Baseball Class A affiliate of the New York Mets. Annual South Carolina Peanut Party
November 2-3, 2018
Farmers in Pelion, a mere 20 miles or so from Columbia, have been producing and harvesting peanuts for years. It has long been an autumn tradition for the townspeople to gather for the annual boiling of the peanuts. Today, members of the Pelion Ruritan Club continue the tradition at the annual Pelion Peanut Party. The Ruritans use a secret recipe for boiling the peanuts; however, they are more than happy to share the final product with festival-goers. This year’s festival features a craft show, parade, car show, cooking contest, 5K, softball tournament and more. Click here for additional information.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. 31st Annual Chili Cook-Off in Five Point

The #5PointsChiliCookOff in Five Points gives you the chance to watch teams battle it out for Columbia's best chili! Join us for over 30 awesome chilis, live music, children's area, craft beers, cornhole and more! The best part? The event is FREE! Chilis will be tried by our panel of 10 experts and judged in the following categories: Overall Best Chili, Best Vegetarian, Best Texas Style, Best Non-Traditional. Repticon is coming to Jamil Temple! Repticon, a nationwide promoter of reptile and exotic animal expos, brings its unique blend of vendors, breeders and educators back to Columbia for a family-oriented, fun-filled event. The expo brings thousands of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, spiders and small exotic animals to area enthusiasts. Top breeders and vendors will offer animals, merchandise, cages, supplies, live and frozen feeders, and their expert advice where needed. Labor Day 5 Miler & Team Relay
September 3, 2018 at 7AM
The 2018 Labor Day 5 Miler is a flat and fast course. Corner of King and Devine Street in the heart of Shandon. Award ceremony will start at 8:15AM. Refreshments: water, gatorade, bananas, cantaloupe, grapes, honeydew, pineapples, peaches and strawberries. This is a South Carolina USATF Long Distance Race Championships Event.
